Single Buggy Point Standings after 4 Rounds of 2008 CORR Series

for immediate release
LAS VEGAS—Menzies Motorsports, Las Vegas' newest and brightest star motorsports team, is leading the point standings in three of the four classes in competes in this year after the first four rounds of the 16-race 2008 Championship Off-Road Racing (CORR) short-course series.

Rob MacCachren, who leads the all-Las Vegas six-driver, seven-vehicle team with 66 career CORR class wins, is at the top of the leaderboard in both the Pro-2 and the Pro Buggy divisions while teammate Bryan Freeman has been untouchable in leading the Single Buggy class so far in 2008.

Winning three of the four races so far in both classes, MacCachren has 392 points in Pro-2 in the the No. 21 Rock Star Ford F-150 while in Pro Buggy, where he was second in his only non-win during Round 4, he has 408 points in the No. 921 BFG Tires Honda-powered AlumiCraft open wheel desert race car.

Freeman, a third-generation desert racer, is undefeated after four races in Single Buggy, with 424 points in the No. 307 Nevada Off-Road Buggy Fraley-VW. He has also been the fastest qualifier in all four races so far in 2008.

Rounds 3 and 4, held last weekend at the impressive 9,000-seat Las Vegas International Off-Road Raceway behind Terrible's Buffalo Bills Resort and Casino in Primm, Nev., will be televised on a delayed basis over the next few weeks.

This Saturday a two-hour show will air at 4 p.m. (PT) on the SPEED Channel and a one and one-half hour special will air Sunday, June 15th at 9:30 a.m. (PT) on NBC.

MacCachren and Freeman’s Menzies Motorsports teammates, who are also all from Las Vegas, and their current position in the 2008 CORR points are: Bruce Fraley (11th, Pro Lite, No. 12 MSD Ford Ranger), Bryce Menzies, team owner Steve Menzies’ son who sat out Round 4 with a neck injury (24th, Pro Lite, No. 7 Fox Shox Ford Ranger), Larry Job (6th, Pro Buggy, No. 907 MasterCraft AlumiCraft-Honda) and Brock Krahenbuhl, Steve Menzies’ son-in-law who has two third place finishes so far this year (6th, Single Buggy, No. 312 KMC Fraley).

Of the team, MacCachren has more than 20 years of short-course or stadium-style off-road racing experience, but the rest of the group are either total rookie or close to it. Bryce Menzies and Fraley finished one-two in Single Buggy last year, but this is the first year that either of them has driven a race truck and this is the first full season for Job, Freeman and Krahenbul in this type of racing.

“Steve Menzies is applying all of his business acumen to Menzies Motorsports and the result is our entire team is in position each race to be extremely competitive,” said MacCachren, who is now in Mexico pre-running for next weekend’s 40th Tecate SCORE Baja 500 desert race where he will split driving with team owner Mark Post in the No. 1 Rockstar/Makita Ford F-150 SCORE Trophy-Truck. “Steve Menzies has created a very friendly, but intensely serious, work environment and while he certainly has opinions, he is a great listener and an extremely quick learner. All of these characteristics can’t be bought with money and they are the really keys to the success Menzies Motorsports is having this year.”

“The CORR Series is like post-season play in the NBA or the NFL--you just keep battling against the best short-course off-road racers in the world every time the whistle blow or the ball is snapped. If you blink, you just got passed by three guys.”

Next up for Menzies Motorsports will be Rounds 5 and 6 of the 2008 CORR Series, to be held June 7-8 at the Los Angeles County Fairplex in Pomona, Calif.

Menzies Motorsports is based out of a state-of-the-art 31,000-square foot race shop in southwest Las Vegas and the new team also has a test facility with a one-mile track southeast of Las Vegas which is laid out nearly identically to course at the Las Vegas International Off-Road Raceway.

Kroyer Racing Engines of Las Vegas builds the Ford truck engines and the Honda Pro Buggy motors for Menzies Motorsports while Southern California’s FAT Performance builds the VW Single Buggy engines.

Menzies Motorsports, owned by prominent Las Vegas contractor Steve Menzies, is making a major
impact despite being only in its second season of existence and first year with more than two drivers.
